446 Grey Street, Brantford

Arriving at the parking lot

Park in the lot on the east side of the building. You will see signage for VON at the entrance of the lot and the building will be to your left as you pull in. You can park anywhere within this free lot. (If you see signage for Ball Media, you’re in the wrong lot. Come back out to the road and to the other side of the building.) If this lot is full, you can park in the lot on the west side and walk across the lawn if needed.

Finding the Entrance

Facing the building, the entrance is the second exterior door from the left. If the door is locked (which is unlikely), please call 519-783-1440 to let me know and I will come let you in (please be patient if you are early, as I may be with another client). Once inside the vestibule area, you will notice a list of suites to the right hand side, underneath the “Park Place Business Centre” signage. I am not currently listed on the menu board so don’t be alarmed if you don’t see Suite 110.

Navigating Inside the Building

Once inside, you will see an office door for “The Red Cross” to your right and “That’s Life Occupational Therapists” to your left. You will follow the hallway in and to your right and pass by a series of poppy flower artwork before arriving at the office door (Suite 110) on your left hand side.

Settling In & Getting Comfortable

You will enter a small waiting area. Please remove your shoes in wet or snowy weather. There is a water cooler in the waiting area, which you can use to fill your water bottle or one of the mugs available. The washroom is to the left as you enter the suite. Please have a seat and I will come to greet you at your session time.

Easing Into Your Session

My office is small but cozy. As you enter, the couch will be immediately in front of you. (In the photos below, the door is behind the camera and to the viewer’s right). Please feel welcome to sit anywhere on the couch, to adjust the pillows and to use the blanket if you like.

You will find a small basket of sensory/fidget tools on the table next to the couch, which you are welcome to use during your session. Also, you are welcome and encouraged to bring any tools or comfort items with you to your appointments.

Additionally, please let me know if we can make any adjustments to the environment to help with your comfort. If I am able adjust lighting, noise or any other environmental factors, I will do so. Even if I am not able to make adjustments, naming them can be a helpful way to process your in-the-moment experience.
